Exceptional Meeting Facilitation
Corporate Games facilitators have been guiding Board of Director meetings and other group retreats for over 20 years.
Dynamic meeting facilitators have a combination of personal qualities and practical skills that allow them to guide groups towards productive and engaging discussions. Here is how we approach meetings that we facilitate:
Personal Qualities:
- Neutrality & Objectivity: We avoid expressing personal opinions or biases, keeping the focus on the group’s goals.
- Respect & Empathy: We value all participants and their contributions, creating a safe and inclusive environment.
- Active Listening: We genuinely pay attention to what’s being said, summarizing and clarifying key points.
- Enthusiasm & Positivity: We bring energy and optimism to the discussion, motivating participants to engage.
Practical Skills:
- Communication: We articulate clearly, concisely, and adaptively to different personalities, emotional intelligence and communication styles.
- Interactive team exercises: We are team building experts, and offer a wide range of communication exercises and team challenges to break down barriers and insure that all attendees feel comfortable contributing.
- Organization: We create and stick to an agenda, managing time effectively and keeping the discussion on track, with your goals and mission priorities in mind.
- Problem-Solving: We can identify and address roadblocks, using techniques to maintain productive discourse.
- Flexibility & Adaptability: We can adjust plans on the fly, responding to the group’s needs and unexpected situations.
- Conflict Management: We skillfully manage disagreements, ensuring everyone feels heard and respected.
Important Additional Assets:
- Initial conversations/meetings: We work with our clients to understand their meeting objectives. We script each meeting carefully, using an Outcome-Based agenda to insure that all critical topics are covered with adequate time. This part of our process typically requires a minimum of two meetings, and is critical to insure a successful board retreat or planning session.
- Knowledge of the Topic: We familiarize ourselves with the meeting subject which enhances our ability to guide the discussion.
- Humor & Storytelling: Using humor and anecdotes can lighten the mood and make the session more enjoyable.
- Addressing the 5 Dysfunctions of a Team: When or if groups are having difficulty coming together, we can address each of these five dysfunctions and help teams to improve by using leadership training exercises and examples. We can also provide tips on how teams can continue to improve long after the meeting is over.
We strive to be exceptional meeting facilitators, and this takes practice and continuous learning.
